Artist 360 Retreat
Artists 360, a program of Mid-America Arts Alliance provides grant funding and professional development opportunities to individual artists of all disciplines in the Arkansas counties of Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Sebastian, and Washington.
Five annual grants of $15,000 are awarded to individual artists to support collaborative projects that generate dialogue and community engagement. Projects must also provide opportunities to other artists, helping to create an active community of peer support in the Northwest Arkansas region. Grantees receive financial support for their community-based projects and participate in peer-based learning experiences, including an in-person retreat, One-On-One mentorship, and small group discussions. These experiences develop entrepreneurial skills, while expanding a network of leading regional artists.
RumWolf's The Howling Part II
Following the success of Rumwolf’s Howling: Part I in 2021, this sequel promises to be even bigger, bloodier, and more bonkers than the first! Created, curated, and produced by Bentonville-based multidisciplinary artist Rumwolf, expect live music, dancing, acrobats, performance artists, food, drinks, and more at this epic Halloween extravaganza. Plus, make sure to stop by the galleries to celebrate the closing of his exhibition, The Big Free Picture, before 10 p.m.
Dance Chance NWA 3.1
DanceChance NWA is a choreographic lab that provides regional choreographers with a platform to workshop and develop new dance works. Each season features a slate of 12 choreographers who present their original choreography at Works-In-Progress showings throughout the year, culminating in a Season Showcase.

Performance for the Northwest Arkansas Council
Established by Sam Walton, Don Tyson, J.B. Hunt and other business leaders, we are a private, nonprofit organization working to advance job opportunities, talent recruitment, physical infrastructure, health care and quality of life. Most of the Council’s more than 100 members are companies, including Walmart, Tyson Foods, J.B. Hunt Transport Services, Inc., Simmons Foods and George’s, Inc.
For their keynote meeting at The Momentary on July 18, RumWolf, Jessica Hale, and Heidee Lyn Alsdorf provided a brief but exciting bit of entertainment for the council, celebrating Rumwolf’s ongoing exhibit, The Big Free Picture and thanking the council for their support of local artists.
Dear NWA Council, it’s your fault I’m an artist!
To Breathe Full and Free
Hosted by The Momentary
Flyover Dance Collective presents a site specific collaboration at The Momentary in conversation with Firelei Baez’s To breathe full and free: a declaration, a re-visioning, a correction (19°36'16.9"N72°13'07.0"W, 42° 21'48.762" N 71°1'59.628" W, 36° 22' 0.1848'' N94° 12' 8.64'' W). Including a community ensemble and live opera singer, FDC’s performance explores water imagery as ritual, our shared sense of journey, and a critical interrogation of the home/foreign binary.
Loring Taoka Exhibit +/-
Hosted by Crystal Bridges
A quartet of FDC dancers inhabit a long hallway of patterned artwork created by visual artist Loring Taoka at Crystal Bridges. The piece is accompanied by a live musician who creates music in real time for the dancers via artificial intelligence algorithms, and original costume pieces are inspired by the wallpaper designs of Taoka. These performative elements explore the multiple layers of one’s identity, and how we play with and fashion these for ourselves in everyday life.
Still Life with Discontent
Hosted by 21C Museum & Hotel, Bentonville
South African artist Wim Botha’s sculptures and drawings punctuate the gallery space as five FDC dancers explore the lines of flight emanating from the different winged objects. The disfigured busts and stark fluorescent lighting are paired with the haunting strains of spiritual music composed by Arkansan African-American composer Florence Price, played by a live violinist.
